Research Week went too fast!

During research week i attempted to make a start on Andy's essay, which would have been easier if i knew how to reference properly!! I had 3 people trying to explain it to me and i still don't completely understand. :( I also started thinking about ideas of what toy to make for Caroline's assignment. I havn't decided on anything yet, but i have a few ideas to think about some more and then i can start making it. I have also been trying to decide what topic to base my ICT assignment on and still have no idea!!

Research Week :)

This week i have been considering what to do for my ICT and problem solving projects. I have also started writing my assignments for Sian and Andy. I have also spent the week copying up any work i have missed and reading over my notes. I have also organised my folders into a tidy, organised way ready for doing work :)

In my ICT seminar i had to work in a group with 3 other girls and choose a topic we all agreed on. We chose to do Childhood Obesity. We had to go online and find a reliable website on the topic. After looking at a lot of websites we decided that www.emedicinehealth.com was the best one. We then had to discuss the good and bad points about it. We decided it was good becuase there it was all clearly laid out and was all easy to find. There was not too much information put in one place so not big chunks of writing to read. There were also some bad points, there was a lot of advertisements on the page, making it run slowly and took ages to load. It was also easy to get distracted from the topic choice, even though we were researching childhood obesity, we ended up looking at dodgy toenails. We then had to find out how accurate it was by checking when the website was last updated. When we were done we had to do a presentation in front of the rest of the class.

My name is Gabriela and i'm 18 years old. I am studying Educational Studies at Swansea Metropolitan University. The reason i chose to study at Swansea was becasue it's a really nice City and becuase it isn't too far away from home. When i finish this course i would love to become a primary school teacher :) I'm staying in Halls at the moment and i have made amazing friends with the girls on my floor who i would be lost without! :)
